The Institute of Molecular Biology and Genetics Hosts Info-Day on Antimicrobial Resistance

On 26 June, the Institute of Molecular Biology and Genetics (IMBG) of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine hosted an Info-Day dedicated to the European project SURE-AMR, which addresses the global challenge of antimicrobial resistance (AMR).

The event was attended by third-year students from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, who had the opportunity to gain first-hand insight into the Institute’s scientific activities and its contribution to tackling one of the most pressing threats to global health.

During the visit, students:

  • Engaged with researchers from various departments and laboratories;

  • Learned about current research lines and methodologies related to AMR;

  • Participated in discussions on the implications of antibiotic resistance in Ukraine and beyond;

  • Reflected on the importance of establishing a national expert centre on AMR within IMBG.

The Institute firmly believes that fostering dialogue between research institutions and young scientists is essential to building future capacities and advancing scientific solutions to complex societal challenges. IMBG extends its appreciation to all participants for their interest and active engagement.
